1. Indications: Warning Light, Flags in AH & HSI, Vacuum <1"
2. Instrument Effected: AH & HSI
3. Backup Vacuum System Control ENGAGE
4. M.P.Decrease until appropriate vacuum reading.
@ high altitude, alternate 2-3 min with decreased M.P. as necessary (gyro spool up).
5. Altitude Descend to 4.8 inches H.G.

AMMETER DISCHARGE/LOW VOLTAGE
1. Verify Failure
2. Radios Master & Electrical Equipment OFF
3. Alternator Circuit Breaker CHECK IN
4. Master SwitchOFF (for 6 second) then ON
5. Ammeter & VoltmeterCheck for low voltage
6. Radios ON
If low voltage continues
7. Alternator Circuit Breaker PULL
8. Nonessential Radios & Equipment OFF
9. Discharged battery will require Manual Gear Extension
Gear position and other lights will not illuminate
10. Instruments effected: Turn & Slip Indicator, Nav Instruments
EXCESSIVE CHARGE RATE
1. Alternator Circuit Breaker PULL
2. Nonessential Electrical Equipment OFF
TO RECOVER RADIO
1. All Lights & Radio Switches TURN EACH OFF
2. Master Switch ON (Monitor for Smoke for 5 minutes)
3. IF MORE SMOKE Master Switch OFF
4.I f No Smoke - Selected RadioTURN ON (Monitor 5 minutes)
5. IF SMOKE OFF
6. If No Smoke Operate on Battery Power w/minimal equipment
PROPELLER OVERSPEED
1. Throttle RETARD
2. Oil Pressure CHECK
3. Propeller Control MINIMUM PITCH / RPM, then set as available.
4. Airspeed REDUCE
5. Throttle As required (< 2575 RPM)
6. Be prepared for Engine Power Loss and Power Off Landing Check Lists
LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE / HIGH OIL TEMPERATURE
1. Oil Pressure CHECK
2. Power REDUCE
3. Mixture RICH
4. Airspeed Greater than104 knots (for cooling)

1. Fuel Selector SWITCH TANKS
2. Fuel Pump ON

1. Symptom - Drop in M.P. then RPM - Engine Roughness
2. Throttle FULL OPEN Ð TRY AT DIFFERENT SETTINGS

5. Prepare for power off landings

2. Landing Gear / Flaps AS REQUIRED
3. If Sufficient Altitude ATTEMPT RESTART
4. Fuel Selector OFF
5. Electric Fuel Pump OFF
6. Mixture LEAN CUT OFF
7. Propeller COARSE PITCH (out)
8. Flaps AS REQUIRED
9. Ignition & Master Switches OFF
10. Door UNLOCKED/AJAR/BLOCKED OPEN
POWER OFF LANDING
1. Determine landing site and wind direction
2. Airspeed 90 KIAS Range. - 77 KIAS Endurance / Min Siink
Slower AS downwind, faster into wind - Glide Ratio: 10-13: 1 gear up - 7:1 gear down
3. DECLARE EMERGENCY (121.5 / 7700)
4. Throttle CLOSED
5. Propeller COARSE PITCH (out)
6. Fuel Selector OFF
7. Fuel Pump OFF
8. Mixture IDLE CUT-OFF
9. Passenger BriefingFire Extinguisher, survival gear, seat back, seat belts, brace
10. Ignition Switch PROP PARALLEL TO GROUND (if required) & OFF
11. Landing Gear DOWN AS REQUIRED (w/landing assured)
12. Master Switch OFF
13. Seat Belts TIGHTEN
14. Door UNLOCKED/AJAR/BLOCKED OPEN
15. Flaps AS REQUIRED (64-73 Knots approach speed)
16.Contact ground at minimum forward speed Vs=60 Vso=56 Knots
ENGINE POWER LOSS - TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Airspeed 90 KIAS Range. - 77 KIAS Endurance
DECLARE EMERGENCY (121.5 / 7700)
2. Electric Fuel Pumps ON (or OFF then ON)
3. Fuel Selector SWITCH TANKS (to tank with fuel)
4. Carb Heat ON/OFF
5. Mixture FULL RICH / CYCLE
6. Primer LOCKED? or PRIME FOR EFFECT
7. Engine Gauges CHECK FOR CAUSE
8. Propeller COARSE PITCH (out)
9. Throttle CYCLE
10. Ignition Switch (Mags) CHECK ON - CHECK L, R, & BOTH
11. If no restart possible - Throttle OPEN
12. ENGINE STOPPED LANDING Check List
If Power is RestoredCAREFULLY RESTORE TO NORMAL
ENGINE ROUGHNESS Ð ENROUTE
1. Carb Heat FULL ON
If Roughness Continues 1 Min - Carb HeatOFF
2 .Mixture Control ADJUST FOR MAX SMOOTHNESS
3. Fuel Pump ON (or OFF then ON)
4. Fuel Selector SWITCH TANKS (to tank with fuel)
5. Engine Gauges CHECK FOR CAUSE
6. Ignition Switch (Mags) CHECK BOTH - CHECK L, R, & BOTH
7. Primer TRY PUMPING - LOCKED
8. Throttle CYCLE
9. Be prepared for Engine Power Loss and Power Off Landing Check Lists

CHECK FOR MALFUNCTION
1. Check Master Switch ON
2. Circuit BreakerAfter 5 minutes - CHECK IN
3. If CB popping - try pushing in with gear switch in each position.
4. Non-essential avionics, pumps, etc. OFF
5. Gear SwitchCYCLE while pushing Johnson Bar to assist
MANUAL LANDING GEAR EXTENSION
1. Altitude >4000 feet AGL. Airspeed 87 KNOTS OR LESS
2. Landing Gear Switch OFF
3. Emergency Extension Handle EXTEND
4. Motor Release Arm Disengage Electric Motor
5. Motor Release Arm Push through full travel
6. Emergency Extension Handle Push FWD full travel & brace
If Possible - Follow Check List in 70P POH
GEAR UP LANDING
1. Determine landing site and wind direction
2. Airspeed 90 KIAS Range. - 77 KIAS Endurance
Glide Ratio - 10-13: 1 gear up - 7:1 gear down
3. DECLARE EMERGENCY (121.5 / 7700)
4. Throttle CLOSED
5. Propeller MINIMUM PITCH / RPM (out)
6. Mixture IDLE CUT-OFF
7. Fuel Selector OFF
8. Fuel Pump OFF
9. Ignition Switch PROP PARALLEL TO GROUND (if required) & OFF
10. Master Switch OFF
11. Seat Belts & Shoulder HarnessesTight
12. Door UNLOCKED/AJAR/BLOCKED OPEN
13. Flaps ONLY IF REQUIRED (64-73 Knots approach speed)
14. Airspeed Normal approach - 68-78 Knots
15. Contact ground at minimum speed Vs=60 Vso=56 Knots
SPIN RECOVERY
1. Throttle IDLE
2. Ailerons NEUTRAL
3. Rudder FULL OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF SPIN
4. Control Wheel BRISKLY FULLY FORWARD through NEUTRAL
5. Rudder NEUTRAL WHEN ROTATION STOPS
6. Control Wheel BACK PRESSURE TO RECOVER
FIRE
FIRE DURING START
1. Starter CRANK CONTINUOUS
2. Fuel Selector OFF
IF ENGINE STARTS:
3. Maintain power for a few minutes then secure and inspect
IF ENGINE FAILS TO START:
3. Starter CONTINUE CRANKING
4. Mixture IDLE CUT-OFF
5. Throttle OPEN
6. Fuel Pump OFF
7. Master & Magnetos OFF
ABANDON & EXTINGUISH IF FIRE CONTINUES
CABIN FIRE
1. Master Switch OFF
2. Vents / Cabin Air / Heater CLOSED
3. Fire Extinguisher ACTIVATE
4. DECLARE EMERGENCY (121.5 / 7700) MASTER ON - OFF
5. EMERGENCY DESCENTGEAR DOWN 130 knots - (MASTER ON - OFF)
6. Landing Gear MANUALLY EXTEND (as required)
7. Be prepared for Engine Power Loss and Power Off Landing Check Lists
8. LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICAL/IMMEDIATELY
ELECTRICAL FIRE
1. DECLARE EMERGENCY (121.5 / 7700)
2. Master Switch OFF
3. Avionics Power OFF
4. All Other Switches OFF
5. Vents / Cabin Air / Heater CLOSED
6. Fire Extinguisher ACTIVATE
7. EMERGENCY DESCENTGEAR DOWN 130 knots - (MASTER ON - OFF)
8. LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICAL/IMMEDIATELY
IF FIRE APPEARS TO BE OUT:
9. Master Switch ON
10. Circuit Breakers CHECK (DO NOT RESET)
11. Radio Switches ALL OFF
12. TEST EACH RADIO & ELECTRICAL DEVICE UNTIL SHORT IS LOCATED OR
UNTIL ABLE TO LAND SAFELY
13. Vents / Cabin Air / Heater OPEN
14. LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICAL/IMMEDIATELY
ENGINE FIRE (w/Smoke in Cabin)
IF FIRE EXTINGUISHED:
IF FIRE CONTINUES:
7. EMERGENCY DESCENT GEAR DOWN 130 knots
8. DECLARE EMERGENCY (121.5 / 7700)

5. EXECUTE SIDE SLIP TO KEEP FLAMES & SMOKE FROM TANKS OR CABIN
6. EMERGENCY DESCENT GEAR DOWN 130 knots
7. DECLARE EMERGENCY (121.5 / 7700)
8. LAND IMMEDIATELY
